Glorified State of the Nation

"The President Gloria Arroyo has declared a State of Emergency, after the Army said it had prevented a coup." This is just a typical day in the sunny country of the Republic of the Philippines, the Pearl of the Orient. My goodness! What is happening to us Filipinos?!! Eversince that succesful EDSA, 20 years ago, people have been trying to oust one president after another. We are never contented, we never learn from our mistakes. Filipinos in a time like this should be united once and for all. We have a lot of tragedies in the palm of our hands that adding another nonsence is nothing short of suicide!!!
Instead of rallying in the streets, trying to lure Gloria from her throne, we should help the victims of the Leyte Tragedy. Instead of blaming Gloria for the state of our country, why don't we just pray for the repose of the souls of those people who died in the Wowowee Stampede? Gloria has done her best in trying to help the country rise from the murky waters that it is wallowing in right now. We can't expect her to magically heal the country of it's diseases.
I am in no way pro-GMA, nor am I anti-GMA. I am instead an advocate for contentment. Because I believe that we, Filipinos, do not really know what contentment really is. We have this tendency to wallow in self-pity, to blame those persons in position for the desperate and pathetic lives that we're living. Now is not the time for rallying in the streets, nor a time for succumbing to fear, and this is no time for being INDIFFERENT! I for one, don't know what to do in this restless time, but I do know that I don't want my country to be the laughingstock of the entire world. Three EDSA revolutions is more than enough, nay, IT IS A DISGRACE!!! The first EDSA is the only real one, where the world became witness to the true Filipino democracy. Rallying on for another revolution will be the hay that will break the camel's back.
